Dr. Maya Lespinasse, PT, DPT, Cert-DN

A woman sitting on a yellow chair in a room, holding a model of a pelvis. She is smiling and wearing a navy and white striped shirt. There is a side table with a small plant and a sign that reads 'In the Office' on it, a cabinet with decorations, and a window with natural light.

Hi! I’m Dr. Maya Lespinasse, a board-certified Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in pelvic health and the owner/founder of How’s Your Pelvis? Physical Therapy and Wellness LLC. I started this practice because I wanted to create something different—a space where people feel truly welcomed, never judged, never rushed, and where their stories are heard with care.

Beyond being a clinician, I’m also a mom, a wife, and a former college soccer player. Those roles have shaped how I show up for my clients: with empathy, resilience, and a deep understanding of how life changes impact our bodies. My passion is helping people reconnect with themselves, move with more ease, and feel confident in their own skin again.

Our Services

  • Your pelvis is the center of so much—movement, strength, intimacy, and everyday comfort. When something feels “off,” it can affect your whole life. Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy offers a safe, supportive space to reconnect with your body, ease pain, and restore balance. Whether you’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, or ongoing pelvic symptoms, we’ll work together to help you move with more freedom, confidence, and ease.

What to Expect at Your First Visit:

    • Comprehensive Assessment: We review your medical history, symptoms, and lifestyle factors.

    • Physical Evaluation: Includes posture, core, and pelvic floor muscle assessment (externally and, if appropriate an option vaginal pelvic floor examination).

    • Education: Learn about how your pelvic floor works and strategies to improve function and relieve symptoms.

    • Treatment Plan: We create a personalized plan, which may include exercises, manual therapy, and techniques like dry needling.

Our goal is to empower you with knowledge and tools to support lasting change and improved pelvic health.

  • No matter where you are in the world, support for your pelvic health is within reach. Through secure telehealth sessions, we’ll explore your unique concerns, build body awareness, and create personalized strategies you can practice from the comfort of your own home. Virtual pelvic coaching is more than guidance—it’s a partnership to help you feel empowered, informed, and confident in your pelvic health journey.

  • Dry needling may sound intimidating, but it’s often not as scary as it seems. Very thin, sterile needles are placed into specific trigger points in the pelvic floor muscles to help release tension and restore balance. Some people feel pressure or brief discomfort, while others notice a quick release. The goal is to calm overactive muscles, ease pain, and improve function. Your comfort and consent guide every step of the process.

  • Fertility Support with Visceral Manipulation

Embarking on the journey to conceive can be both hopeful and challenging. Visceral Manipulation (VM) offers hands-on approach to enhance fertility by improving the mobility and function of pelvic organs. This technique addresses underlying factors such as scar tissue, adhesions, and inflammation that may impede reproductive health.

    What to Expect:

Through a series of personalized sessions, Dr. Maya Lespinasse will use manual techniques to release restrictions and promote optimal organ function. Many individuals report increased comfort, improved menstrual cycles, and a renewed sense of connection with their bodies.

    Research Insights:

    • For individuals with endometriosis, pregnancy rates improved to 42.8% following manual therapy, with 55.4% success for those who pursued IVF afterward.

    • A comprehensive review indicated that 56.64% of patients with fallopian tube occlusion achieved pregnancy after manual therapy. PubMed

    Is This Right for You?

Visceral Manipulation may be beneficial if you've experienced:

    • Pelvic surgeries (e.g., C-sections, fibroid removal)

    • Conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, or unexplained infertility

    • Previous unsuccessful IVF or IUI attempts

This therapy is a non-invasive, holistic option that complements other fertility treatments. Many find it a valuable addition to their fertility journey.

  • Jaw tension, neck pain, and migraines aren’t always “just in your head.” Often, they’re linked to deeper patterns in your body—including your pelvic floor. Fascial, neural, and embryological connections mean that tight or imbalanced pelvic floor muscles can contribute to tension in the jaw, neck, and head.

I specialize in dry needling for the jaw musculature, neck, and migraine relief, targeting trigger points to release tension and restore function. Combined with manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and full orthopedic assessment, we treat the root causes, not just the symptoms—helping you find lasting relief from TMJ pain, neck strain, and migraine triggers.

  • Dr. Maya Lespinasse brings evidence-based pelvic health education directly to communities, gyms, studios, and organizations through interactive workshops and events. Workshops are designed to be accessible, engaging, and practical, helping participants understand their bodies, improve function, and prevent injury.

Dr. Maya Lespinasse has had the privilege of leading workshops for a wide range of audiences, including:

    • Boston Public Health Commission

    • F45

    • Pure Barre

    • Burn Bootcamp

    • Private personal training gyms

      …and many more.

Whether it’s pelvic floor education, movement-based classes, or specialized training for fitness professionals, each workshop is tailored to meet the needs of the group while empowering participants to take actionable steps toward better health.
